Woodbridge is walking distance to a rich array of Detroit’s local businesses. You can got out to eat, visit a museum or gallery, sample some locally brewed beer, and take care of all your errands without ever having to get into a car. Below are a few of our favorites; for a full list, check out the University Cultural Center Association’s list.
FEATURED BUSINESS
Mobil skateboards was conceived by Greg Verras and Tyler Baldwin (a.k.a Mobil) on a trip they made to Atlanta in 08’, where they sweated a lot and recorded music. Upon returning to Detroit they teamed up with Aptemal Clothing, Shark, and a few other transients and began having some seriously unproductive ‘Monday Meetings‘ at the Division Street Boutique. They brainstormed ideas on how to achieve a world skateboard takeover, while everyone consistently received many demerits for tardiness and/or terrible ideas. Miraculously, over the next two years they would get their shit together and today, Mobil Skateboards is pressing it’s own decks and working with some of the finest talent in Detroit and beyond.
